Scrawlr is a company building a software platform and series of products dedicated to enabling alternative forms of communication layered on existing internet content, together with delivering superior monetization flexibility and content ownership for content generators.
Lodgr, a division of Scrawlr, will provide property management services to property owners, and an ability for short-term renters to source vacation properties close to major metropolises.

Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Manager that will work on Lodgr. Your focus will be on client relationship management and acquisition, potential market identification and analysis, partner identification and relationship management, service offering definition and refinement, and cooperation with the technology development team to accommodate future commercial growth plans.
Namely, the key objectives of the role will be :
Developing, iterating, and implementing the commercial offering plan
Developing the initial market (Ontario, then Canada) into a fully commercially viable one.
Maintaining existing relationships with property owners in Canada.
Identifying additional markets within Canada and internationally to penetrate, with a focus on developed world countries.
Identifying additional services to be provided as part of the property management package
Maintaining and developing relationships with partner companies (Jauntr, Verto) and identifying additional partners (property insurance, property repairs / maintenance, property cleaning)
Identifying, refining, and communicating commercial needs to the tech team
Responsibilities
Your role will include, but will not be limited to :
Negotiating with clients, customers and partner companies to continuously improve the profitability of Lodgr
Coordinating initiatives with the executive management by providing regular progress reports on all outstanding initiatives
Conduct periodic market research and identify prospective business opportunities within North America and internationally
Report and record budgets, expenses, and revenue attributable to all outstanding commercial activities
Liaising between various teams within Lodgr, including, but not limited to the development team
Identifying and managing commercial risks and designing and implementing strategies to remediate them
Required Skills or Experience
Candidates seeking to apply for the Commercial Lead position must satisfy the following requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, administration, or a related field
Three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience in business development
Experience with marketing and project management
Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the proven ability to effectively communicate across different levels of the organization
Excellent analytical reasoning, problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Experience working in a start-up environment
Ability to work independently under pressure
Relationship management skills
Salary and Benefits
100,000 - $180,000 base salary, with potential bonus based on individual performance
Extended health benefits plan
