Job summary

Nokia in Canada seeks an Enterprise Optical Business Development Manager to lead sales strategies and grow the enterprise market with cutting-edge Optical and networking solutions.

You will build relationships with customers and partners, collaborate with product, engineering and marketing, and drive RFP/RFI responses while staying ahead of industry trends.

This role emphasizes travel within Canada and a strong track record in Optical networking and enterprise sales to deliver measurable growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years in Optical networking or telecom sales in Canada.
  • Proven track record in enterprise sales and growth.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Deep knowledge of DWDM/ROADM and network automation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel across Canada.

As an Enterprise Optical Business Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of Nokia's Optical technology expansion in Canada. Your role is pivotal in uncovering and nurturing sales prospects, leveraging your expertise in Optical and networking technologies. You will engage with cutting-edge Optical and network automation solutions, ensuring Nokia remains at the forefront of market trends. Responsibilities
  • Drive new business, technical strategies for new customers in Canada.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the enterprise market, focusing on Optical solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and requirements.
  • Develop and execute business plans and strategies to achieve sales targets and market penetration goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to ensure Nokia's solutions remain competitive.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to align efforts and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to RFPs, RFIs and advice on competitive market pricing
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market gaps and potential areas of growth for Nokia's Optical solutions.
  • Support the development and delivery of training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of account managers and sales teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Nokia's policies, procedures, and standards, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the Optical networking or telecommunications industry in Canada preferably in the Enterprise market.
  • Proven track record of successful business development and sales management, with a strong understanding of the Canadian enterprise market.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, with a results-oriented approach to driving business growth.
  • Deep knowledge of Optical networking technologies, including DWDM, ROADM, and network automation solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships.
  • Flexibility to travel within Canada as required to meet customer needs and support business development activities.
