Job description

Our client is a one-stop expert in complete water handling and filtration solutions for environmental compliance, which is supported by fully integrated field services. Its filtration and separation services, along with proprietary manufactured products, are used by clients across Canada. Historical markets served include midstream and downstream energy. The company is expanding into the civil construction, mining, pulp and paper, chemicals, food and beverage, transportation, and general manufacturing sectors.

Due to company growth, they have an immediate need for a Business Development Executive – Filtration Services. This position is an individual contributor role, with the potential to migrate into a commercial leadership role.

The ideal candidate for this position is based in Alberta, but candidates from across Canada will be considered.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Calling upon procurement and operations within critical target customers.
  • Developing and working with customer needs and preferences.
  • Coordinating with project management and operations staff to respond to customer RFPs with specific capabilities, timing, and pricing.
  • Coordinating promotional events, service/product launches, and trade shows.
  • Spearheading new market development (i.e. mining, civil construction, food and beverage).
  • Researching and identifying channel partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Preparing reports via Salesforce and presentations to update company leadership.

Specific requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or environmental sciences; chemistry knowledge a plus
  • Minimum 10 years’ industrial water filtration / environmental services experience selling >$100,000 per project mobilization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and contacts within energy, mining, wastewater, civil construction, food and beverage, and pulp and paper industries.
  • Track record of successful MSA / contract negotiations with large institutional clients.
  • Effective user of Salesforce.
  • High level of professional communication including intermediate to advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with First Nations commercial arrangements a plus.

The initial compensation plan for this position is $130-150K base salary (commensurate with experience) plus bonus, vehicle allowance, and full benefits. The Business Development Executive will have the option to transition to a base salary plus uncapped commissions.
