Job summary

Jonas Software - CORA Group in Canada is seeking a Business Development Associate to help source and develop our acquisition pipeline. You will research software verticals, map targets, and engage founders and executives to explore opportunities.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will run outbound campaigns, maintain CRM in Salesforce, and coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal close.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing.
  • Proven ability to conduct research, generate prospect lists, and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; professional interaction with executives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets.
  • Develop and execute prospecting campaigns via email, calls, and meetings.
  • Communicate investment strategy clearly and manage CRM hygiene in Salesforce.
  • Coordinate with M&A Execution to advance opportunities through diligence and deal execution.
  • Maintain relationships with founders and senior decision-makers.

You will report to the Director of Business Development and work closely with the portfolio’s senior management team. Financial literacy and an understanding of software and technology businesses are considered assets. **What your impact will be:*** Identify, research, and map software markets to find attractive acquisition targets* Develop and execute prospecting campaigns through email, outbound calling, and in-person meetings, while effectively communicating our M&A value propositions* Clearly communicate the investment strategy, ensuring the investment process is handled with care and professionalism* Continuously research new industries, sub-sectors, and trends to spot emerging opportunities and provide value to the targets you engage with* Build and maintain relationships with software founders, owners, and decision-makers* Track all interactions, data, and insights in Salesforce, maintaining a disciplined approach to CRM hygiene* Analyze outreach performance and iterate on campaigns to improve engagement rates* Coordinate with the M&A Execution team to advance qualified opportunities through diligence and deal execution **What we’re looking for:**You are:* A self-starter with excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities who thrives on new challenges and takes initiative* A natural relationship builder who enjoys conversations and understands how to connect with founders* A curious learner with the ability to quickly understand different business models and industries* An organized operator who takes pride in tracking details, setting reminders, and keeping pipelines clean* Energized by measurable goals, outreach KPIs, and moving deals forward. **Qualifications:*** 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or M&A sourcing.* Strong written and verbal communication skills with a personable, professional phone manner.* Demonstrated ability to conduct research, develop prospect lists, and generate actionable insights.* Proficiency in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Outreach.io, or Apollo is a plus.* Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance. MBA or graduate education is a plus but not required.
