IT Consultant @ DEXIAN | Banking and Financial Services

Job Description: Solid IT and database background, with proven experience in complex SQL query development and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries using Hive and Impala.
2. Analyze large datasets across multiple tables to support business and regulatory reporting.
3. Tune database queries for performance, leveraging indexing, partitioning, and understanding of query execution plans.
4. Utilize shell scripting or Python to automate data workflows and support data processing tasks.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
6. Work with OTC derivatives and related data formats such as FpML (a plus).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Domain knowledge in OTC derivatives and financial markets.
• Proficient in SQL, with experience writing complex, multi-table queries.
• Experience with Hive and Impala.
• Knowledge of query optimization, performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
• Experience in shell scripting and/or Python.
• Familiarity with FpML is an asset.
