Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a driven Business Continuity professional to coordinate development, testing, and maintenance of our BCP program across the organization in Canada. You will plan tests, maintain documentation, support during events, and coordinate audits and reporting to management.

You will work with Disaster Recovery, IT and Compliance teams to ensure effective recovery strategies, perform risk assessments, and craft communication plans for ongoing continuity requirements and incidents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of analytical experience in business impact analysis, risk assessments, strategy formulation, and testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining business continuity plans.
• Professional CBCP or FBCI certification is preferred.
• Post-secondary education required (3-year) or equivalent work experience.
• MS Office proficiency and knowledge of BC planning tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the development, maintenance, monitoring, and testing of the BCP program.
• Plan BCP tests, maintain documentation, and prepare corporate reporting.
• Support business during BCP events through logistics, communication, and resumption support.
• Coordinate divisional audits with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Produce monthly reporting to executives and management.
• Coordinate exercises and testing, including DR tests and tabletop scenarios.
• Maintain continuity documentation and systems (ENS, notification system).
• Collaborate with IT/Disaster Recovery to define recovery requirements.
• Prepare after-action analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement communications strategies for ongoing requirements.
• Act as central information and communications coordinator for audit projects.

Job description

• Coordinate the development, maintenance, monitoring, and testing of the FIC Business Contingency program
• Plan BCP tests, maintain BCP documentation, and prepare corporate BCP reporting
• Support the business during actual BCP events through logistical planning, event coordination, communication, and business resumption support
• Coordinate specific divisional audits, including communication with external auditors and internal business-unit stakeholders
• Coordinate monthly reporting to CS, Compliance Executives, and management
• Coordinate business continuity program exercises, including monthly production work days, quarterly Disaster Recovery tests, tabletops, and scenario-based testing
• Maintain continuity documentation and systems, including the Emergency Notification System, BCP hotline, Beacon, and inSite BCP continuity page
• Develop and maintain BCP plans and strategies, including business impact analysis, threat assessments, contagious illness strategies, and remote access requirements
• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery, Telecom, and other IS teams on business recovery requirements and strategies
• Prepare tests, conduct postmortem analysis, document and investigate test issues, and resolve issues or apply corrective actions where possible
• Implement communications strategies to keep business units informed about the continuity program and upcoming requirements
• Serve as the central information and communications coordinator for designated audit projects
• Participate in mitigation efforts and coordinate recovery activities during business disruptions, supporting the incident management team as required

Requirements

• 2+ years of analytical experience in business impact analysis, risk assessments, strategy formulation, and testing
• Previous business continuity plan development experience
• 3-year post-secondary education required, or equivalent work experience
• Professional certification from either the Disaster Recovery Institute, International (CBCP-level) or the Business Continuity Institute (FBCI-level) required
• Computer literacy in MS Office Suite
• Working knowledge of BC planning software, such as LDRPS and ENS
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Detail and accuracy oriented
• Current work authorization for Canada required
