Notes on Location: The resource will work remotely but must be available for on-site meetings (in Edmonton, AB) when required. MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following combinations of education or certification and experience in the resource role:
• University degree in business, management or a related discipline and four years of related experience, or
• Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and six years of related experience, or
• One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution and seven years of related experience.
• 5 years experience using ERP systems such as SAP.
• 5 years experience with business plans, mandates, strategic priorities, objectives, and/or programs of 1GX.
• 5 years experience with SAP ECC projects.
• 5 years experience working in specific streams: HCM, Finance, and Payroll.

• Active professional certification or accreditation in a related discipline from a recognized issuing body.

Description:

Project Name: SF/SAP Time Management, Leave, Schedule, and Payroll

Position Title: Payroll and Time Business Analyst

Scope: 1GX Center of Excellence (CoE) manages and oversees the performance of the Government of Alberta’s (GoA) enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, 1GX. The CoE has overall accountability for service delivery and vendor relationship management. 1GX is the core ERP solution for GoA including human capital, time and pay, employee central management, and release management. The CoE provides strategic leadership for ongoing enhancement and development of 1GX applications.

The Senior Payroll and Time Analyst, reporting to the Manager, is responsible for engaging with stakeholders, applying critical thinking, and ensuring systems meet client needs. The role requires strong project management skills to lead large projects, guide junior analysts, and develop innovative solutions. Collaboration with functional and technical teams within 1GX and other shared service functions across the GOA is essential.

The work products impact the entire APS landscape, targeting all employees or specific sub-sets of 1GX users.

Duties:

• Provide leadership and support to stakeholders and project teams during analysis, configuration, testing, and implementation of 1GX systems.
• Ensure system changes are reviewed and aligned with policies and standards.
• Resolve issues in 1GX operations and support the production environment.
• Develop and implement process improvements.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify impacts and address issues.
• Lead large and complex projects from inception to completion.
