Job description

Cowan Insurance Group is looking for a highly motivated Business Auditor to join our team! Reporting to the Director of the Personal Insurance department, the Business Auditor is responsible for conducting personal insurance operational and quality file reviews and be comfortable recommending improvements. You will collaborate with Senior Auditors, Trainers, and Leaders in this Business Auditor role. You must be highly detailed, organized, and accurate and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. In addition, you must work without supervision, exercise initiative, and use independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.

What you will do :

  • Assessing and understanding business risks related to client files
  • Conducting Personal Insurance operational and quality file reviews
  • Provide feedback to staff members and leaders on audit results
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on training needs
  • Assess the quality of the supporting documentation within the brokerage files
  • Research and provide recommendations on workflow improvements
  • Assisting in the planning, execution and reporting on internal audit projects
  • Assess compliance with personal insurance workflows and processes
  • Review insurer audit findings and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with Senior Auditor, trainers and Leaders within the organization

What you will bring :

  • Minimum of 5 years personal Insurance experience
  • RIBO License or ability to obtain
  • CAIB or CIP designation an asset
  • Experience in auditing operational processes to ensure effective compliance and quality
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to summarize audit results in clear, concise, understandable language.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required
  • Experience using EPIC, an Applied Systems broker management application an asset
