Kelly is seeking a Business Analyst with Model Risk Management experience for a contract role in Mississauga, Ontario. The role offers a hybrid schedule with three days onsite per week, a 6-month contract with extension potential, and exposure to agile practices, data migration, and model risk governance

Qualifications

  • Proven BA experience in Model Risk Management or related risk governance.
  • Experience with large-scale data migration projects.
  • Expertise in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) with Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong analytical skills to translate governance into technical specifications.
  • Experience reviewing test cases and supporting QA processes.
  • Excellent communication across risk, technology, audit and leadership.
  • Solid understanding of model risk principles per SR 11-7 / SS1/23.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within a Model Risk Management, model validation, or familiarity with quantitative risk function in MRM
  • Experience with large-scale data migration projects, including data analysis, mapping, and validation — ideally involving model inventory or risk data.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), with a proven ability to write clear and effective Epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex MRM governance requirements into detailed technical platform specifications.
  • Experience in Reviewing test cases and supporting the quality assurance process
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and manage stakeholders across model risk, technology, audit, and senior leadership levels.
  • Strong understanding of model risk management principles, including model development, independent validation, model tiering, and ongoing monitoring in accordance with regulatory expectations (SR 11-7, SS1/23, or equivalent).
What You Will Be Doing
  • Will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of a new, unified platform for the Risk organization.
  • Will act as a vital conduit between the Model Risk Management business stakeholders, and technology teams.
  • Responsible for translating high-level business needs into detailed requirements, ensuring the resulting platform is robust, scalable, and compliant with all regulatory standards — including Model Risk Management governance frameworks, model validation workflows, and SR 11-7 / SS1/23 regulatory guidance.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders, including Model Risk, model owners, model validators, business users, and dependent technology teams, to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements aligned with MRM policies and governance standards.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to break down high-level Epics into well-defined, actionable user stories with comprehensive acceptance criteria, covering model inventory management, validation lifecycle, and findings tracking workflows.
  • Document current and future state workflows for model development, independent validation, approval, and ongoing monitoring — identifying gaps and opportunities for process improvement to support a single, unified MRM workflow across all model tiers.
  • Partner with the QA team to develop detailed test cases and scenarios specific to MRM workflows (e.g., model submission, validation findings, approval routing). Participate in testing to validate that implemented solutions meet both business and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a key communication bridge between model validators, model owners, senior MRM leadership, and technology teams — ensuring a clear and common understanding of requirements, project status, and deliverables at all stages.
