Maarut Inc in Winnipeg seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering sessions, document detailed business requirements, and analyze current processes for optimization.

You will collaborate with IT, operations and management to ensure alignment of solutions, create functional specs and user stories, and mentor junior team members. The role emphasizes delivering clear designs and supporting training and QA efforts for successful implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives and document detailed business requirements.
• Analyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Develop comprehensive business cases outlining costs, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including IT, operations, and management) to ensure alignment of business and technology solutions.
• Create functional specifications and user stories, ensuring they are clear, complete, and feasible for implementation.
• Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes and enhancements to existing systems and processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts and team members as needed.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance efforts, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.
• Assist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for end users as necessary.
• Defines and documents business processes involving current and future states
• Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical team, consultants and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of solutions
• Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology and/or through business process changes;
• Reads and interprets technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users or non-technical staff
• Plans, organizes and conducts business process reengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of programs
• Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making
