Job summary

Vancouver International Airport is seeking a Business Analyst - Airport Capacity to lead capacity management initiatives and drive end-to-end digitization of capacity programs. The role reports to the Manager, Airport Capacity and supports analytics teams in translating data into business insights for strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of experience, strong PM and business analysis skills, and experience with Power BI/Databricks.

• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

Position overview

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Business Analyst - Airport Capacity. Reporting to the Manager, Airport Capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for business leadership and program management of key capacity management business processes, including initiation, execution, control and completion of enabling and improvement projects & programs related to airport capacity management as we drive to end to end digitization of our capacity management programs. This role is the subject matter support as the lead for capacity management programs and as a super user for our suite of software tools.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the Capacity Enhancement Program, driving the successful planning and implementation of projects and change initiatives from problem identification through delivery, and facilitating the definition of project scope, objectives and deliverables.
• Develop full scale project execution plans - with specific focus on change management for all elements - people, process and technology including stakeholder impact management.
• Define and document current and new capacity management business processes including the interfaces and interdependencies of people, process and technology.
• Assess existing systems and processes assessments to ensure seamless integration and data flow across multiple platforms and performance per the intended business outcomes.
• Own the development, maintenance and communication of capacity planning frameworks and decision-support tools to support organizational planning, prioritization and investment.
• Provide business analysis and recommendation to senior management on capacity management policy and strategies, as well as mentorship and guidance to the analytics teams to translate analytics and studies into business insights and outcomes.
• In depth stakeholder engagement and analysis to ensure configuration and parameters meet the needs of our organization.
• Support capacity parameter enhancement, demand & service forecasts, planning assumptions and operational KPIs to assess capacity and inform decision-making.

Key qualifications include:

• At least five years of relevant experience supplemented by a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related aviation field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and business analysis ability.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, from end users to Executives.
• Knowledge of YVR's Airport Capacity programs, planning and management processes, and related software is preferred.
• Advanced analytics - experience with YVR BI programs and tools such as Power BI, Databricks and query languages.
• Experience with business and financial analysis, specifically knowledge of YVR's business model including our business and operational KPIs ad Financial Frame as capacity management strategy must enable these outcomes.

Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers.

Salary Range:

Band 9: $92,515 to $120,910 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
