Global Enterprise Services (GES) is accountable for the operation of Canada's two systemically important clearing houses (CDS and CDCC) and, as a shared service organization for TMX, it also provides services that support TMX businesses in meeting their objectives. In this regard, GES provides the Firm's Technology, Information Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Integrated Operations, Project Management, Vendor management and Innovation services.


Role Summary

The Business Analyst draws up requirement statements and takes part in development projects as advisor in the area of business and systems use. He/she follows up change requests with users and acts as intermediary between users and implementation teams.


Key Accountabilities


  • Lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for enhancements across CDS,CCMS.

  • Conduct interviews and analysis sessions to understand current business processes and future needs.

  • Translate documented requirements and described business rules/processes into clear actionable functional specifications documents and configure modules to meet those specifications, ensuring traceability from requirements to deliverables.

  • Collaborate with technical teams on solution design, configuration, and integration development.

  • Act as the functional subject matter expert (SME) during the design, development, and implementation phases of new capabilities.

  • Support the teams that perform design, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Facilitate complex issue discussion meetings and resolve ambiguity.

  • Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and recommending mitigating strategies.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Legal, and Information Security teams to validate solutions from an architecture, data privacy, legal contract, and cybersecurity perspective.

  • Provide leadership in process improvement initiatives and enhance system and support documentation.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Make recommendations on process improvements and system enhancements to optimize performance and efficiency.

  • Develop detailed test scripts and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions to ensure delivered solutions meet requirements and stakeholder expectations.

  • Manage and prioritize defects and enhancements identified during testing.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive change management plans for new solutions to ensure successful end-user adoption.

  • Create training materials and support documentation for end-users and administrators.


Must Have(s)


  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing requirements analysis with various functional areas of business and mapping requirements.

  • Experience with leading joint analysis and design sessions to elicit outcome based use cases and user stories that deliver results.

  • Ability to apply critical thinking to problems and identify alternative solutions with pros and cons and present to business and technology stakeholders.

  • Business Analysis experience with a demonstrated ability to gather and define requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience with waterfall and Agile-based project methodologies.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • University degree in technology related field or business.

Salary Range


  • 120,000/year - 130,000/year CAD.
