Job summary

Hydro One Inc. is seeking a data analytics professional in Toronto for a 18-month temporary role. You will collect and analyze data on service level agreements, contracts and distribution work programs.

You will develop BI dashboards using Excel, Power BI, Tableau and SAP to support reporting and forecasting. You will prepare reports, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive process improvements across Distribution Analytics.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of data analysis from SLAs, KPIs and distribution work programs.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with BI tools for reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communications and stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and ensure accuracy.
  • Experience with service level agreements, contracts and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze large data volumes related to SLAs and KPIs.

  • Prepare reports and respond to internal and external requests with data.

Job Function

Collect and analyze information related to service level agreements, contracts or processes. Assist with compiling and reviewing information and estimates on distribution and transmission work. Assist with business process development needs, and participate in the provision of liaison and project integration. Provide advice and direction on processes related to service level agreements and contracts

Job Description
  • Collect and analyze large volumes of data related to service level agreements, key performance indicators and Distribution work programs
  • Work with various stakeholders to define and develop business reporting for Distribution work programs leveraging tools such as Business Intelligence (BI), Microsoft Excel, Access, SharePoint, and SAP
  • Prepare reports and provide information, data or advice in response to internal and external requests
  • Utilize computer systems, software and analytical techniques to carry out forecasting and analytical studies to interpret and assess the execution of work programs within the Distribution business
  • Develop and document and/or utilize systems for the collecting, analyzing, presenting and reporting of information and estimates related to service levels, contracts, spend and accomplishments
  • Perform monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis activities for the Distribution Analytics team. This includes development and maintenance of scorecards, dashboards, performance metrics to support monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of Distribution work programs, reports to support business planning, and others.
  • Prepare analysis and initiate studies or investigations where opportunities for improvement are apparent. This includes collaborating with other lines of businesses and analyzing operational, financial and productivity data to measure efficiency, track savings initiatives.
  • Assist in discussions, problem solving and issue resolution regarding ongoing work program performance
  • Participate in the assessment of organizational performance as it relates to the execution of work programs
  • Assist in the development of communication requirements relating to a wide variety of business operation processes and related subjects making presentations to various audiences
  • Provide advice and direction on service level agreements, contracts, processes and related activities and assist with audits to ensure compliance
  • Perform other duties as required
Selection Criteria
  • Requires knowledge of computer information systems and business administration to be able to develop and/or utilize systems and processes for analyzing, presenting and reporting large volumes of information
  • Strong and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient in software programs including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI, Tableau, SAP enterprise software, BI/BW or equivalent systems
  • Requires a proficient knowledge of English including written and verbal communication skills to be able to effectively prepare written correspondence, assist in discussions, interact with customers and deliver presentations
  • Requires experience handling multiple tasks while adhering to stringent deadlines
  • Requires some experience monitoring organizational performance
  • Requires knowledge of service level agreements or contracts and analytical techniques to be able to analyze the associated information and provide advice and direction
  • Requires experience in working effectively with a wide range of people as well as the ability to work independently
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years). A degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Statistics, or Economics is considered an asset
  • A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
