Objective
The Business Analyst, Operations is responsible for managing and optimizing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within the operations domain of the organization. This role focuses on understanding and enhancing business processes, gathering requirements, and implementing solutions that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of operations. The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between IT and operations teams, ensuring that ERP solutions align with business needs and support operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with operations teams to understand business processes and translate them into ERP system requirements and configurations.
- Document requirements for system features and improvements and perform a business processes analysis to ensure the needs align with operational goals
- Support system upgrades, testing, and integration with other business systems to ensure seamless workflows.
- Analyze existing processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Recommend process improvements to ensure that ERP solutions support continuous improvement in operational efficiency.
- Analyze the system development required and obtain the appropriate approvals (specifications, quotes, time estimates, etc.)
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement technology solutions that enhance operational performance while meeting functional requirements, technical specifications and high-level design
- Support the development of system enhancements solutions tailored to the needs of the operations team, ensuring these meet business and technical requirements.
- Provide ongoing support to users by troubleshooting issues, providing guidance, and resolving system-related issues.
- Develop training materials and conduct training for users to ensure proper use of the system and reports.
- Participate in change management efforts related to ERP system changes or new implementations, ensuring smooth transitions and adaptions with minimal disruption to operations.
- Oversee the testing and validation of new systems or changes, ensuring they function as expected and meet user requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving operational processes through IT initiatives.
- Multi-channel Management: Support and streamline operations across various retail channels, including online and wholesale
- E-commerce Integration: Enhance customer experiences by integrating back-office operations with digital platforms
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain management.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems. D365 or AX knowledge would be an asset.
- Experience implementing Supply Chain processes, and knowledge of WMS functionalities.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements
- Proven experience in retail management and e-commerce
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex business and technical requirements driven by finding solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Solid understanding of business operations, including production, logistics, and supply chain processes
- Proficiency in MS Office and Visio and basic knowledge of SQL
- Understanding database systems, data flow architecture, and integration technologies.
