Job summary

Fleetworthy is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join the Data Operations team. You will translate high-level strategic initiatives into detailed, actionable requirements for delivery teams, bridging business needs and technical execution.

You will own end-to-end requirements from stakeholder interviews to clear specs, with exposure to senior leadership in a fast-growing company. Strong communication, planning, and AI-assisted analysis are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience working with technical teams (data, engineering, platform).
• Proven ability to create clear epics and tickets (e.g., Jira) and manage priorities.

The Problem You'll Solve

Our Data Operationsteams areat an inflection point. We have:

• Multipleconcurrent strategic initiatives and not enough time to fully flesh out requirements and dependencies
• Two delivery teams (Data Platform and Data Services) focused on executing committed quarterly work
• Multiple avenues to makead-hoc requests, slowing things down

You'llbe the bridge-taking strategic direction and stakeholder needs, fleshing out the details, and structuring work so delivery teams can execute confidently.You'llbring rigor toEnterprise requests and use AI tools to scale your workacross multiple domains.

What You'll Do:

Requirements Translation & Deep Dives

• Gainhigh-level understandingor projectsfromthe Director andleadership meetings,fleshingout details
• Conduct follow-up interviews with stakeholders to uncover granular requirements
• Transform vague asks into real specs: source systems touched, definition of done, stakeholder sign-off, priority tier
• Use AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Genie Code) to analyze Slack& Emailthreads, draft requirements,andexplore data
• Work with technical teams to translate business language into technical requirements delivery teams can act on

Solution Coordination & Planning

• Work with Director to ideate high-level solution approaches
• Create well-structured epics and Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria
• Work with Data Platform and Data Servicesmanagersto prioritize and plan work
• Contribute to quarterly planning alongside teammanagersand Director
• Keep multiple balls in the air when teams are focused on delivery

Enterprise/Business Enablement

• Create a single intake front door forRevOps, Finance, andother Enterprise & Product teamrequests
• UnderstandEnterprise teams' data needs and pain pointsand representEnterprise voices in technical decisions
  

Supporting Responsibilities:

• Maintain Confluence documentation of design decisions, findings,finalizeddefinitions
• Pursuesign-offsfrom stakeholders to keep work moving
• Coordinate cross-team handoffs between Data Services and Data Platform

What You'll Work With

Databricks

• Work in Databricks notebooks to query and explore datacatalog
• Understand the platform well enough to communicate with technical teams
• Prior Databricks experienceNOTrequired-SQL + willingness to learn is sufficient
• Frequent use of LLMagents to coordinate efforts across teams
• Tools such asClaude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.
• Use AI toacceleratedrafting ofrequirements, analyzingSlack threads,generatingticket structures,exploringdata
• Why this matters: Our enterprise teams (RevOps, Finance, Product) are AI-enabled and generating more requests faster.You'llneed to use AI tools to supportboth our Data Platform and Data Services teams.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings across stakeholders
• Create presentations for leadership
• You'rea power user, not just a casual user

Excel Advanced

• Build models, use formulaswhen necessary
• Work with Finance stakeholders who live in spreadsheets
• Experience creating well-structured epics and tickets

Diagramming Tools

• Familiarity with tools such asMiro, Lucid,Gliffy, Visio etc.

Data from Enterprise Systems of Record

Qualifications

Experience:

• 5-7 years as a Business Analyst, Technical BA, or similar role
• Experience working with technical teams (data, engineering, platform)
• Track recordof translating business needs into technical requirements
• Comfortable in fast-pacedenvironments

Technical Background:

• Experience with data platforms, BI tools, or analytics environments
• Understanding of software development and data development concepts at an enterprise scale
• Prior Databricks experience is notrequired –Database experience+ willingness to learn is sufficient
