Job summary

SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 74 (GOLD TRAIL) in Ashcroft is seeking a Bus Driver for the Lytton Westside 3 Route. This part-time role is 5 hours per day (25 hours/week) and open to external applicants.

You will transport students to and from school, supervise on board, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and keep the bus clean. A Class 2 license with air endorsement, 2 years of experience, and a clear abstract are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 Driver's License with air endorsement.
• 2 years of driving experience with Class 2 and air.
• Clear Driver's Abstract.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
• Clear criminal record check.
• Must be able to communicate and relate well with students.
• Physical capability to perform the work.
• Previous similar work experience desirable.
• Commitment to working as a member of the school team in support of students.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from school and on all other trips as assigned.
• Supervise students on the bus to maintain a safe environment on regular, scheduled runs.
• Undertake pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Sweep and clean interior of bus daily and exterior as required to maintain safe and clean condition of vehicle.
• Make minor repairs as required and report to the Mechanic any items requiring repairs.
• Maintain student discipline.
• Undertake bus washing and needed lubrication.
• Other duties as required.

Description Of Position

The Bus Driver, under the direction of the Director of Operations and the Operations Foreman, will be required to drive a school bus in a safe and efficient manner.

The Successful Applicant Is Expected To

• transport students to and from school and on all other trips as assigned
• supervise students on the bus to maintain a safe environment on regular, scheduled runs
• undertake pre- and post-trip inspections
• sweep and clean interior of bus daily and exterior as required to maintain safe and clean condition of vehicle

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
