Job summary

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is seeking a Practice Advisor II (Built Environment and Seismic Initiatives) for a 6‑month contract in Burnaby. You will guide professional practice resources, lead advisory groups, and coordinate with regulators and government bodies to advance seismic and built environment initiatives.

A strong writing and presenting track record is essential. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments, public engagement, and delivering practice guidance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working in a firm where the practice of professional engineering/geoscience is core
• 2+ years of experience in project management
• Experience writing and submitting formal technical reports
• Experience with leading meetings and presenting to diverse stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Provide professional practice and ethical advice to registrants, the public, and government bodies
• Manage development and revision of guidelines and advisories on built environment and seismic initiatives, including contracts and budgets
• Develop and maintain cross‑departmental relationships to improve efficiencies and knowledge sharing
• Provide leadership to advisory groups and support regulatory initiatives related to practice boundaries and seismic work
• Liaise with regulators on practice resources and guidance and participate in related projects
