Job summary

Engineers and Geoscientists BC in Burnaby seeks an Administrative Assistant, Professional Practice for a contract until the end of June 2027. You will provide front-line customer service and administrative support for the Continuing Education and Annual Reporting Programs, triaging inquiries and guiding registrants to complete requirements.

You will contribute to creating guidance content, monitor program metrics, and assist with continuous improvement efforts under the Competency Program

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of administrative experience in an office environment.
• Diploma or further education in administration is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in preparing meeting minutes.
• Proficiency with core Microsoft Office programs.

• Assist in developing and revising presentations, guidance documents, and web content.
• Track and review metrics for CE and AR programs, including compliance metrics.

Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for an Administrative Assistant, Professional Practice to join our team in Burnaby on a contract until the end of June 2027.

The Administrative Assistant, Professional Practice is responsible for providing customer service and administrative support for the Continuing Education and Annual Reporting Programs. Responsibilities include triaging incoming inquiries and complaints related to the programs, providing answers to frequently asked questions, assisting registrants to complete their requirements, tracking program metrics, and assisting with continuous improvement tasks.

What You Will Be Doing

• Intaking and responding to staff and registrant emails and phone calls about the CE Program and Annual Reporting, and escalating when necessary.
• Assisting in developing and revising presentations, guidance documents, and web content for the CE and AR Programs under direction of Competency Program Coordinator.
• Assisting Competency Program Coordinator in tracking and reviewing metrics for CE and AR Programs, including compliance metrics.
• Executing and escalating CE Program exemption and late fee waiver requests, including reviewing, responding to, and tracking applications and requests.
• Assisting Competency Program Coordinator in completing continuous improvement projects for the CE and AR Programs.
• Other duties as assigned by direct leader and, as appropriate, members of the departmental leadership team.

What You Bring To The Table

• 2-5 years of administrative experience in an office environment.
• Diploma or further education in administration is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in preparing meeting minutes.
• Computer and word processing skills, including proficiency in core Microsoft Office programs.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including an annual salary within our hiring range of $55,500 to $62,000 (pro-rated based on the length of contract). For full-time contract employees on this length of contract, we offer:

• 8% additional pay in lieu of benefits.
• 10 vacation days per annum (pro-rated based on the length of contract).
• A flex day program offering additional paid days off (usually alternating Fridays) as a result of a compressed work week.
• A hybrid work model with an assigned schedule confirming days worked remotely and days worked in-office. This role will be required to work in-office a minimum of 2 days per week during regular business operations.
• The required tools, equipment, and technology for employees to work remotely are provided.
• Free parking at the office, or a transit reimbursement offered to employees who take transit to work; we are centrally located near bus and Skytrain stops.
