Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Building Systems Coordinator to assist planning, scheduling, and coordination of on-site mechanical and electrical activities.

You’ll work with trades to ensure quality, drawings, and schedules align, and support commissioning and safety processes. The role requires a high school diploma or related post-secondary credentials, with preference for trades or construction experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; tradesperson or post-secondary diploma in a related discipline preferred.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain Government of Canada security clearance at Reliability Status level.
  • Co-op or relevant experience in construction preferred; basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Strong communication, planning and time-management skills; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project teams to plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site mechanical and electrical activities.
  • Coordinate construction execution with building systems trades to ensure drawings, specs, quality and schedule adherence.
  • Assist with coordination drawing process and review trade contractor quality-management programs.
  • Witness on-site field testing and record results; support commissioning document deliverables.
  • Attend management and architect meetings; support safety programs and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Assist project teams to plan, schedule, and coordinate all on-site mechanical and electrical activities, and coordinate the construction execution with all building systems trades for compliance to drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule.
  • Assist with coordination drawing process.
  • Reads and understands the building systems trade contractor quality-management programs. Witnesses on-site field testing and records results.
  • Assist project team with building systems commissioning document deliverables.
  • Attends management and architect meetings related to building systems.
  • Adheres and supports internal safety programs.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Tradesperson or post-secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) is preferred.
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain and maintain, a Government of Canada security clearance at the Reliability Status level.
  • Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with construction progress and sequencing.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a face-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines, and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and become proficient with new software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

The estimated salary range for this role is $65,110 to $84,260,based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
