North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is seeking a Building Service Worker for auxiliary on-call work in our recreation facilities. The role covers cleaning, minor maintenance, and general upkeep to ensure a positive experience for visitors.
The successful candidate will have Grade 10 or higher, preferably with a Building Service Worker program, and must hold a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License. Police check and availability at all NVRC locations are required.

We are looking for a team player committed to maintaining NVRC’s facilities in order to provide excellent experiences for our customers. You will perform building service work in a recreation facility with a variety of minor maintenance repair tasks and routine janitorial duties.
You are courteous and effective with customers. You have working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in building maintenance and janitorial work; the ability to perform minor repair tasks, and to perform routine janitorial duties; the ability to work under minimal supervision, to ensure that janitorial tasks are completed; the ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records related to the work; and skill in the use and care of equipment used in the work.
The ideal candidate should have completed Grade 10, preferably supplemented by the training related to the work plus related experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to those who have completed a Building Service Worker Program. A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
All candidates must be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position.
This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends.
The pay for this unionized auxiliary position starts at step 1, $27.30 and ranges up to $31.97 per hour (2024 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
