Colliers International in Toronto is seeking a Building Operator to support the TRDC Data Centre at Royal Bank Plaza. You will maintain uptime for critical systems, operate the control centre, UPS, BAS, and electrical/mechanical infrastructure, and ensure safety with proper PPE.

This is a Building Operator role for Royal Bank Plaza in downtown Toronto. The incumbent will be responsible for providing critical thinking and effective Technical Services, Support, and maintaining Uptime for all Critical Systems supporting the TRDC Data Centre at Royal Bank Plaza. Responsible for the Operation of the Control Centre, UPS, BAS, Plant Mechanical, Water Treatment, Fire Alarm, Electrical, and EPGS Systems for the TRDC Critical Systems. Responsible for the daily monitoring, inspections/daily rounds, recording of data and maintaining all Critical Systems for the TRDC. Thoroughly understand all SOP’s and EOP’s pertaining to the Critical Systems of the TRDC. Be familiar with escalating Critical Events to the Technical Operations Manager and be able to action SOPs/EOPs in emergency and disaster recovery situations. Perform immediate, effective procedures to rectify anomalies in Day-to-Day operations, including temperature/setpoint adjustments, mode switching for cooling, and EPGS monthly testing. Provide exemplary customer service to Capital Markets Trading Floor staff. Monitor and utilize Building Automation System (Ainsworth/Schneider) to ensure optimal operating parameters and energy efficiency. Comfort and familiarity in Electrical Breaker Switching procedures and opening and closing breakers using proper PPE.
The successful incumbent is required to work a rotating 42-hour shift (Continental), consisting of Daytime (D12), Nighttime (N12), and weekend shifts (D12/N12), to perform their required duties. As required, support colleagues by covering open shifts due to illness or vacation. Some after-hours Critical Activities may require more than 1 operator, for which overtime will be paid. Ability to work with others and independently to perform their duties. Ability to read blueprints and understand Single Line Diagrams for TRDC. Ability to communicate with clarity via email and ability to present documents using Microsoft Word and Excel. Must always be alert during daytime, nighttime and weekend shifts and respond immediately as required. Be motivated and a self‑starter to complete work assigned by required deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure, utilizing their knowledge to make proper decisions to maintain 100% UPTIME. Good interpersonal skills, allowing the candidate to work well with others, including colleagues, contractors, and all staff at Royal Bank Plaza.
