Job summary

BRIGHTER STAFFING AGENCY is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker for a full-time, permanent role in Vancouver. The ideal candidate has a solid background in building maintenance and a commitment to reliable, quality service.

You will repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, perform routine maintenance, monitor supplies, inspect building systems daily, assist tradespeople, and help prepare units for new residents. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift heavy objects are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments and minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and coordinate major repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance such as painting and drywall repair.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases.
• Respond to residents' requests for minor repairs and perform daily system inspections.
• Provide general assistance to skilled tradespersons such as mechanics and electricians.
• Coordinate preparation of housing units before new residents arrive.
• Ensure security and safety measures are in place in the building.
• May show apartments to prospective tenants and collect rent.
• May process lease or rental applications, including background and credit checks.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• May supervise other workers.

We are currently seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance and repair, as well as a passion for providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make minor purchases as required
• respond to requests from residents for minor repairsperform daily inspections on the building systems
• provide general assistance to skilled trade persons such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters and plumbers
• coordinate the preparation of housing units prior to the arrival of new residents
• ensure that security and safety measures are in place in the establishment
• may advertise vacancies, show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and collect rent
• may process lease or rental applications, including completion of background and credit checks

Requirements:
