Job summary

Little Galaxy Childcare Inc. seeks a Building Maintenance Worker to perform cleaning, minor repairs and routine upkeep at our Brampton facility, with minimal supervision. You will handle floors, windows, and general facility safety checks.

Requires a Secondary school graduation certificate and 1–2 years’ experience in building maintenance. This is a full-time, permanent, on-site role offering 30–40 hours per week at about $37 per hour.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• 1–2 years of experience in building maintenance or similar.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
• Empty trash cans and other waste containers
• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
• Perform safety and security checks
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
• Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
• Work with minimal supervision
