Job summary

Legacy Personnel Solutions in Windsor, ON is seeking a Building Maintenance Operator to join our facilities team. You will oversee day-to-day building operations, perform light repairs, and ensure fire and security systems are functional while upholding safety procedures.

You may work weekends; expect approximately 30 hours per week with on-site duties. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in building maintenance, English proficiency, a valid driving licence, and a police clearance.

Qualifications

• Secondary School required.
• 3+ years in building maintenance or related field.
• Valid driving licence and police clearance.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of General building maintenance.
• Day-to-day operation of buildings and parking lots.
• Conduct minor repair work.

• Replace lamps and ballasts as needed.

Overview

Join our dynamic facilities maintenance team as a Building Maintenance Operator! In this vital role, you’ll be the backbone of our building’s operational excellence, ensuring all systems run smoothly and safely. Your proactive approach will keep our environment functional, comfortable, and compliant, supporting the productivity and safety of everyone on site. . If you’re passionate about maintaining high standards and delivering exceptional service, this is the role for you!

Approximately 30 hours per week/shift work and weekends.

Wage -$20.00 dollars per hour

Duties

• Knowledge of General building maintenance.
• Day-to-day operation of the buildings and parking lots.
• Must be able to conduct minor repair work’
• Knowledge of building fire and security system.
• Completing monthly testing of fire and safety equipment’
• Replacing lamps and ballasts as needed in tenant / common area.
• Able to climb ladders and use small tools if needed’
• Preform minor routine maintenance and clean ups around property
• Daily clean ups of parking lots and around buildings.
• Responsible for regular maintenance vacant units, mechanical rooms, and Utility rooms.
• Able to lift heavy equipment and supplies (up to 50lbs)
• Trouble shooting building system / Pay & Display parking machines.
• Completing daily building log books and log entries.
• Deal with tenant concerns in a professional manner in keeping with Landlord’s policies and procedures.
• Summer Maintenance – grass cutting, trimming and exterior clean ups etc.
• Winter Maintenance – salting and clearing snow around the building entrances and sidewalks, corridors.
• respond in a timely fashion.

Requirements

Self- starter, organized and multi- tasking and hands on approach

Must be able to work with others in same environment and respectful to co-workers and a team player

Must be able to work approximately 30 hours per week/shift work and weekends.

Must be able to deal with tenant concerns with a customer service approach and

Willing to learn, have positive attitude and follow all health safety procedures at all times

Job consists of physical demands standing, bending, handle material manually and repetitive motion and walking.

Must have safety shoes, proper work attire and must have a police clearance

Work environment indoor and outside exposed to weather, various temperatures, sound and noise.

Able to lift heavy equipment and supplies (up to 50lbs)

Building Operator must complete all duties but not limited as assigned by Property Manager.

Duties included but not limited to listed work above.
