Job description

Rhome Property Management is seeking to hire an experienced live-in Building Caretaker or caretaking couple for a residential rental building in Langley, BC. The building is located on 53A Avenue, near 200 Street in Langley, BC.

You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the common areas, leasing, building maintenance, suite repairs, move-in/move-out inspections, and administration.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain the cleanliness of all common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, elevator cleaning, and garbage removal
  • Maintain tenant relations; engage rental inquiries
  • Maintain written documentation and submit required paperwork by date requested
  • Minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good knowledge of building maintenance and operations functions
  • Knowledge of the Rental Tenancy Act
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Understand written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organizational skills
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Work weekends as required
  • As an absolute condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to satisfactorily complete and pass a background check
  • Salary, based on experience and number of buildings being managed ($40,000 - $50,000 per annum)
  • 50% rent reduction
  • Living in a newly constructed upscale apartment building
