Job summary

University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a Building Information and Controls Specialist to support the Building Automation System on campus. You will configure BAS, optimize performance, and work with BAS vendors, I&ITS and facilities teams to ensure reliable operation and compliance with UofT design standards.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in BAS, BACnet/Modbus experience, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of BAS experience with BACnet and Modbus integration.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel between buildings and work in restricted spaces.
• Experience with HVAC automation and DDC systems in complex facilities.
• Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, report facility repair and maintenance needs in a large campus.
• Coordinate with clients to resolve issues and liaise with Capital Projects.
• Oversee renovations and ensure BAS design standards are followed.
• Monitor BAS performance, adjust schedules, alarm strategies and trends.
• Troubleshoot BAS hardware, networks and PLCs on site.
• Support climate and decarbonization objectives on campus.
