This is a hybrid position with the ability to work both virtually and from our Montreal office.

What the day will look like

  1. Negotiating with Underwriters for the best terms, conditions and competitive pricing for existing and new clients;
  2. Verifying that all policies and documentation for accuracy in accordance with terms and conditions;
  3. Collaborating with Account Executive(s) to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business;
  4. Analyzing client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements; preparing and presenting marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
  5. Negotiating, establishing, and maintaining positive relationships with the underwriting community for the ultimate benefit of the client;
  6. Following up with Insurer(s) to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met;
  7. Approving documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals;
  8. Acting in the capacity of a mentor and peer coach to the Broking team;
  9. Providing leadership, mentoring and advising to the Associate Broker(s) and Broking Coordinator(s);
  10. Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of standard methodologies;
  11. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

How this opportunity is different

As a Senior Broker, you will have the chance to be part of a national team that will help you grow through training and support. You will work closely with account managers as an expert advisor. Your work will have a significant impact in the client's risk transfer strategy more specifically in relation to their executive risks.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  1. Minimum 5 to 10 years of broking or related experience;
  2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written in both French and English;
  3. Client focused and proven relationship building skills;
  4. Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  5. Meticulous attention to detail, refined interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task;
  6. Proven track record to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
  7. Must have strong digital literacy and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package;
