Job summary

Evertz Microsystems in Burlington, Ontario seeks a QA/Test Technician to support development and production of broadcast hardware and network systems. Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong manual dexterity and use of test measuring tools.
• Excellent communication and time management in fast-paced settings.
• Comfortable working in a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Test and Quality Control.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and support IP-based broadcast, telecom and computer networks.
• Inspect hardware to component level per build sheets and drawings.
• Test and validate hardware against defined requirements.
• Install and verify firmware, OS, software and licensing for operation.
• Set up and operate diagnostic tools and monitoring equipment.
• Diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical support within and external to the Test department.
• Provide training to team members as required.
• Build, operate and update test jigs.
• Contribute to on-time delivery of quality products.
• Report daily test status to Test Coordinators.
• Comply with Evertz policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
