Job summary

Blackburn Media Inc. in Chatham, Ontario seeks a skilled Broadcast Engineer to maintain and modernize our technical infrastructure across local stations and digital operations.

You will repair transmitters, manage AoIP systems, servers, and networking, and document new installations. The role requires initiative, multi-tasking, and willingness to travel within BMI markets as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a broadcast engineer.
  • Knowledge of FM and AM transmission systems.
  • Computer hardware, software and Local Area Networks knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience with Wheatnet AoIP systems, WideOrbit, KLZ Newsroom, SDS and other radio software is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of networking in a Windows environment with IT and Networking experience.
  • Experience with Watchguard Firewalls and VLANs is an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside in all climates.
  • Must have initiative and organizational skills, be eager to learn, be flexible, and help co-workers where required.
  • Valid Class G license (clean driver’s abstract will be required).
  • Must be able to work under pressure, troubleshoot, and multi-task a variety of functions.

Job description

We are seeking a Broadcast Engineer to join our engineering group in Chatham, Ontario. In this role, you will help maintain, modernize, and shape the technical infrastructure supporting our stations and digital operations for the next decade of local media coverage.
