Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Able to lift and handle materials weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Comfort in a noisy shop with PPE.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Keep calm and focused under tight deadlines.
• Reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Operate bridge saw to cut and shape stone slabs per measurements.
• Read and follow technical drawings and job instructions.
• Inspect materials before and after cutting for quality.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Assist with safe movement and organization of stone slabs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Manage tasks to meet production deadlines.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Marble Art Canada Ltd. is a well-established, family-run stone manufacturing and fabrication company in Burnaby, near Brentwood Mall. Known for the quality of our workmanship and installations, we are seeking a reliable and responsible full-time Bridge Saw Operator to join our team for long-term employment.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Duties include but are not limited to

• Operating bridge saw machinery to cut and shape stone slabs according to measurements and project specifications
• Reading and following technical drawings, templates, and job instructions
• Measuring, marking, and inspecting stone materials before and after cutting to ensure accuracy and quality
• Performing basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting minor operational issues
• Assisting with the safe movement and organization of stone slabs in the shop
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Managing assigned tasks efficiently to meet production deadlines
• Completing other duties as assigned by the foreman or manager

Experience and qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience operating a bridge saw or working in a stone fabrication shop
• Experience operating CNC machinery or saws is a strong asset
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Comfort working in a noisy shop environment while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with coworkers
• Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused under tight deadlines
• A reliable, responsible approach to work and a commitment to safety and quality
