Job description

To successfully perform this role, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to meet each essential duty with a high degree of competence and professionalism. The individual must be qualified and eligible to mentor junior or intermediate engineers and must satisfy the certification requirements outlined by the Bridge Inspection and Maintenance (BIM) System Inspector Certification process. Additionally, the candidate must be currently registered or certified with Alberta Transportation for conducting bridge inspections. The qualifications listed below represent the expected knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to excel in this position.

• Responsible for the inspection, recording, reporting, and recommendations of all Alberta Transportation registered bridges within the County.
• Assist in the development of specifications and bid documents for a variety of bridge structures and their maintenance requirements, related designs and full bridge replacements.
• Responsible for the installation, recording and reporting of traffic counts.
• Assist with sign supplies, installations and repairs, as well as GPS recording and monitoring of all traffic signs.
• Crew supervision of bridge work when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
