Job summary

Kibbi is seeking a masonry tradesperson to perform skilled bricklaying and related tasks at a fixed Burnaby site. The role involves preparing surfaces, laying bricks and blocks, and installing masonry elements for residential and commercial projects.

You will cut, shape and fit materials, lay mosaic tiles, and restore or paint existing masonry structures. On-site, physically demanding work with exposure to heavy materials and tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• Experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units
• Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing
• Construct and install prefabricated masonry units
• Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools
• Lay bricks or other masonry units to build residential or commercial chimneys and fireplaces
• Line or reline furnaces, kilns, boilers and similar installations using refractory or acid-resistant bricks, refractory concretes, plastic refractories and other materials
• Restore, clean or paint existing masonry structures
• Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
