Job summary

InnVest Hotels is seeking a Breakfast Attendant to greet guests, stock and refresh the breakfast service, and ensure a clean, welcoming dining area each morning.

In this role, you will accommodate guest needs, maintain inventory, and support smooth operation of breakfast service while upholding health and safety standards. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Serve Safe is an asset.

Qualifications

• Provincial Serve Safe certificate an asset (can be acquired upon hire)
• Active listening skills required to recognize, understand and fulfill guest requirements.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent communication skills, must also be able to read and write
• Demonstrated knowledge of guest service and a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a professional, friendly manner as they enter the breakfast service area.
• Stock and refresh breakfast items, maintain brand standards and safety.

• Maintain inventory of food items, dishes, glassware and condiments.
• Restock and clean breakfast area and kitchen during opening/closing.
• Ensure cleanliness of service area, floors, furniture and equipment.
• Bus and clear tables, clean spills, and maintain hotel public areas.
• Date items in fridge and remove expired items for health and safety.
• Place orders and manage inventory as required.
• Report maintenance issues and arrange repairs.
• Respond quickly to guest requests and follow up for satisfaction.

ACTIVITIES:

The duties and responsibilities for the Breakfast Attendant include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet, welcome and interact with our guests in a professional, friendly manner as they enter the food service area.
• Stock and refill/refresh the breakfast service, presenting a clean and fresh offering ensuring brand standards and health & safety requirements are met
• Accommodates special needs and requests from our valued guests.
• Maintains supply levels of food items, china, glassware, silverware, beverages and condiments.
• Complete all restocking and cleaning duties in the breakfast area/kitchen by performing opening and closing as instructed.
• Ensures cleanliness of food service area, floors, furniture and equipment in order to have a clean, presentable and attractive food service area at all times.
• Bus and clear table, clean spills, etc. Ensures cleanliness of Hotel Public Areas including Lobby, washroom and 3 stairwell entrances.
• Ensures all items in the fridge are dated and past date items are disposed of to ensure highest possible regard for health and safety issues.
• Place orders and maintain inventory as required.
• Reports maintenance deficiencies and ensures repairs are completed as requested.
• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
