As a Chit Chats Branch Floater, you deliver a delightful experience to clients in our branches. You are the first line of defense for compliance adherence and always do your best to ensure shipments comply with customs laws—our business depends on it! You process and sort shipments meticulously and are highly proficient in navigating our platform. You are always looking for more efficient, cost-effective ways of getting things done while aligning with our strategic values.

You build rapport with clients and teammates alike. You show up on time, dress appropriately, and get the job done because you know clients and teammates rely on you. You take pride in and maintain a clean and tidy branch.

You work primarily out of various locations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), ON, including but not limited to: Scarborough, Markham, Toronto (North and East York), Vaughan, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington. Travel between locations may be required.

Responsibilities to Clients
  • Greet customers while representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
  • Interact and develop positive rapport with customers, representing the company professionally and seeking opportunities to grow our business.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the branch.
  • Handle reception and administrative duties, including customer inquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Offer consultative service, answer questions, and provide product and service recommendations.
  • Process shipments meticulously, including scanning, sorting, and loading onto skids.
  • Take inventory and place orders for supplies.
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing client returns.
  • Ensure shipment compliance and review accuracy.
  • Educate clients on shipment compliance requirements (Canadian, US, International restrictions, weight, dimensions, packaging).
  • Ensure batch accuracy during processing, using appropriate indicators for batch identification.
  • Complete Bill of Lading (BOL) accurately and thoroughly.
  • Provide proper documentation and escalate shipment or client issues when necessary.
  • Complete shipment processing and compliance reviews promptly.
  • Support drivers with loading and unloading freight.
  • Perform fulfillment tasks such as picking, packing, shipping, and charging as needed.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities to Team
  • Assist branches when short-staffed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and risk management policies.
  • Open and close branches as needed.
  • Follow company policies and procedures meticulously.
  • Contribute to logs of escalations and provide summaries to management.
  • Help teammates optimize procedures for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in extra tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Maintain excellent client service, responsiveness, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
  • Class 1 safety shoes with green triangle patch are required.
  • This is a temporary seasonal contract position with the potential to become permanent.
  • Travel within the GTA may be required.
