As a Chit Chats Branch Floater, you deliver a delightful experience to clients in our branches. You are the first line of defense for compliance adherence, and always do your best to ensure shipments comply with customs laws — our business depends on it! Your process and sort shipments meticulously and are highly proficient in navigating our platform. You are always looking for more efficient, cost-effective ways of getting things done while aligning with our strategic goals and values.

You build rapport with clients and teammates alike. You show up on time, dress appropriately, and get the job done because you know clients and teammates rely on you. You take pride in maintaining a clean and tidy branch.

You work primarily out of various locations but are available to work across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), ON, as required. Some locations include but are not limited to: Scarborough, Markham, Toronto (North and East York), Vaughan, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington.

Responsibilities to Clients
  • Greet customers while representing Chit Chats’ brand and values.
  • Develop positive rapport with customers and represent the company professionally, seizing opportunities to grow our business.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the branch.
  • Handle reception and administrative duties, including customer inquiries via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Provide consultative service, answer questions, and recommend products and services.
  • Process shipments meticulously, including scanning, sorting, and loading onto skids.
  • Take inventory and place orders for supplies.
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing client returns.
  • Ensure shipment compliance and complete reviews thoroughly and accurately.
  • Educate clients on shipment compliance requirements (Canadian, US, International, including restrictions, weight, dimensions, packaging).
  • Ensure batch accuracy during processing, using appropriate indicators for batch identification.
  • Complete Bill of Lading (BOL) accurately and ensure it is true and correct.
  • Provide proper documentation and escalate shipment or client challenges as needed.
  • Complete shipment processing and compliance reviews in a timely manner.
  • Support drivers with loading and unloading freight.
  • Perform fulfillment tasks (picking, packing, shipping, charging) within the branch.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Responsibilities to Team
  • Assist branches when short-staffed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and risk management policies.
  • Open and close branches as needed.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance protocols.
  • Contribute to escalation logs and provide summaries to management.
  • Help teammates implement effective, low-cost procedures.
  • Participate in extra tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Maintain excellent client service, anticipation, responsiveness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
  • Class 1 safety shoes with green triangle patch are required.
  • This is a temporary seasonal contract position with the potential to become permanent.
  • Travel within GTA may be required.
