Job summary

Wolseley Canada is seeking a dedicated Purchasing professional to manage vendor relationships, review purchase items, and collaborate with branch sales teams. You will handle special orders, expedite deliveries, and ensure accurate data entry of purchase orders.

The role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on inventory management, cost control, and service levels to support branches nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Thorough working knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and inventory control policies.

Responsibilities

  • Display the ability to understand all lines assigned to purchase and handle full load of external vendors.
  • Review items for purchase; propose change opportunities as identified
  • Purchasing product; collaboration with branch sales teams
  • Special order handling and effective expediting from the vendor and DC
  • Efficient data entry of purchase orders
  • Display ability to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions
  • Inventory management skills, including: Identify surplus / return opportunities
  • Understanding of penalties and exemptions
  • Ability to understand the delicate balance between investments, service levels, turns and landed cost
  • Special reporting as requested
  • Consistently displays a customer service attitude toward the branches and develops a rapport with branch contacts.
  • Abide by all policies, rules, and regulations of the company including all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures
  • Assistance during physical inventory
  • Assist with other administrative duties as required

What you will bring:
  • Thorough working knowledge of purchasing, warehouse and inventory control policies, processes and procedures; Demonstrates intelligent buying decisions
  • Good freight / transportation understanding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Highly organized in prioritizing work and multi-tasking

Salary Range: $70,000 + 4% PSP (based on qualifications and experience) #INDBOPS
