Job summary

WRT Equipment in Saskatchewan is seeking a Brake Operator to support production by operating CNC equipment and fabricating parts to drawings. You will participate in safety programs and maintain equipment while contributing to quality outcomes on a range of fabrication tasks.

The role requires basic fabrication knowledge, blue print reading skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while working alone or in a team. Training will be provided, with focus on efficiency and safety.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication, layout, and machine operations.
  • Blue print reading is required.
  • Must hold and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
  • Ability to take on multiple projects at one time.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Keep shop clean and tidy on a regular basis.
  • Operate equipment after training: CNC plasma cutter, CNC press brake, CNC saw, punch presses, drill presses, iron worker, track torch, hand torch, and plasma cutter.
  • Read and fabricate parts to drawing specifications.
  • Inspect raw material for dimensions and usability.
  • Use raw material in an efficient and economical manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance on equipment.
  • Work safely and consider others' safety.
  • Report to foreman or production manager as required.
  • Be willing to work in other areas of production as needed.
  • Follow quality management system procedures and participate in in-process inspections.

Job description

Position Overview

The Brake Operator reports to the foreman and works closely with the plant manager and plant staff to effectively fulfill his/her responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the quality of worked performed.
  • Responsible for participating in training sessions.
  • Responsible for completing assigned projects in an efficient, timely and safe manner.
  • Responsible for participating in the safety program.
  • Responsible for proper care and maintenance of the building, property and assets.
  • Responsible for positively representing WRT Equipment.
  • Responsible for understanding and participating in the quality management system and its objectives.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting non-conformances.
Duties
  • Ensure shop is kept clean and tidy on a regular basis.
  • Running each piece of equipment (after being trained by senior personnel) in the department CNC plasma cutter, CNC press brake, CNC saw, punch presses, drill presses, iron worker, track torch, hand torch, and plasma cutter.
  • Read and comprehend detail drawings and fabricate the parts to the drawing specifications.
  • Inspecting raw material for dimension and usability.
  • Utilizing raw material in as efficient and economical manner as possible.
  • Perform the required daily maintenance on the equipment worked with.
  • Work safely being mindful of others and their safety as well.
  • Report to his foreman or the production manager as required.
  • Be willing to work in other areas of production as the need arises.
  • Follow all procedures involved with the quality management system and actively participate in them.
  • Take part in in-process inspections.
Requirements
