Olthuis van Ert is seeking a litigation associate in Vancouver with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our boutique firm. We advise and represent clients in provincial and federal courts and tribunals, focusing on commercial litigation and public law.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of litigation experience in a boutique setting.
• Strong academic record and excellent research/writing skills.
• Clear, persuasive oral advocacy with a client-focused approach.
• Sound judgment and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines.
• Initiative, professionalism and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Drafting pleadings, chambers applications, and written argument.
• Conducting legal research.
• Advising and reporting to clients.
• Conducting examinations for discovery and managing discovery processes.
• Representing clients in administrative and court proceedings, mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Supervising support staff.
• Networking and building relationships to grow your practice.
