Job summary

MLT Aikins in Vancouver is seeking two associates to join our Litigation team. One with three to five years of litigation experience and one with four to six years.

The successful candidates will handle commercial, securities and family litigation and develop their practice in these areas. The litigation group tackles partnership disputes, securities enforcement, regulatory matters, estate and family disputes, and real estate disputes, with opportunities to appear before courts and tribunals

Qualifications

• Minimum three to five years or four to six years of litigation experience, depending on position
• Experience in commercial, securities or family litigation and a commitment to practicing in these areas
• Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines effectively
• A strong work ethic and a high degree of professionalism
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Meticulous attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Advise on partnership and shareholder disputes
• Handle securities litigation and enforcement proceedings
• Advise on regulatory matters
• Assist with estate and family disputes
• Handle real estate and construction disputes
• Associates work closely with senior counsel and are given substantive responsibilities on their files
