Position Summary:

As a Bottling Technician at Hiram Walker & Sons, you will play a key role in the production and packaging of our premium spirits. Working within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting bottling line equipment to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, quality-focused, and committed to continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have a thorough working knowledge of Bottling equipment, product handling operations, and the ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must have the ability to monitor machine functions, understand basic mechanics, identify faults in system, and make adjustments.
  • Must be able to follow standard operating procedures for quality, safety and efficiency tracking.
  • Must be able to demonstrate efficient set-ups for machines on the line and work closely with line mechanics.
  • Must have good written/oral comprehension skills.
  • Will be required to provide support on the line and assist in the training of other employees.
  • Must maintain a clean machine and working area.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Willingness to participate as a team member, contributing to the overall goals of the department and the company in general
  • Thrives in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Must have the physical capabilities to:
    • Be able to lift up to 30lb. from knee to above shoulder height at an occasional frequency (up to 33% of shift) for up to 8 hours.
    • May have to lift full case weight up to 58lb.
    • Must be able to grip at various widths up to 15lb. in either hand.
    • Must be able to walk/stand for entire shift.
    • May have to step up to platform at occasional frequency for 8 hours.
    • Must be able to stoop.
    • Must be able to use hands at competitive speeds with regard to dexterity fingering and handling.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum completion of Grade 12 education; post-secondary education is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of bottling equipment and manufacturing processes; mechanically inclined with a demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
