What you will be doing:
- Leading a progressive bar team in a high-end environment focused on positive guest experiences
- Being an ambassador for the hotel and bar program, including offsite events
- Collaborating with the Creative Beverage Director to develop a leading bar program
- Creating cocktail specification sheets, including prep methods
- Providing professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues
- Preparing and serving cocktails, mocktails, and mixology beverages
- Conducting performance assessments and managing training for colleagues
- Leading the team in implementing change and contributing to innovation
- Establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assisting guests with beverage menu items in an informative manner
- Managing beverage stock and control as per guidelines
- Handling purchasing and receiving procedures, analyzing beverage business
- Having full knowledge of beverage lists, promotions, and menu creation
- Knowing all menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods
- Following safety and sanitation policies in handling food and beverages
- Managing site/outlet and equipment maintenance
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Experience in cocktail menu development, menu engineering, and training
- Strong spirits knowledge; spirits education courses preferred
- Good wine knowledge; WSET Level 2+ preferred
- BC Serving It Right Certificate required
- Previous high-volume luxury F&B bartending experience; experience in AAA/CAA 4-5 Diamond or Forbes 5 Star hotels is an asset
- Degree or diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of beverage products
- Point of Sale system experience is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
