Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Sidney, BC, is seeking a Boom Truck Operator to transport materials to job sites and position them at requested locations. Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3pm, with hourly wage ranging from $30.50 to $39.50 (Tier 1–3).

This role requires a Class 1/3 license with air brakes, crane and forklift qualifications, and strong safety focus. Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, load security verification, and coordination with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries while

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
• Level A crane ticket with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Clean driver's abstract.
• Valid forklift certification.
• Practical written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip truck inspections and notify when maintenance is needed.
• Transport loads in a professional manner, following the road rules and representing the company to the highest standards.
• Ensure cleanliness of truck interior and exterior.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Safe operation of the boom/ mobile crane while loading and unloading.
• Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
