Job summary

WestJet is seeking a First Officer to operate Boeing 737s, supporting the Captain to ensure safe and efficient operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You will exemplify professionalism and teamwork across all flight phases and uphold safety and security through established procedures.

The role requires a Transport Canada ATPL, Group 1 Instrument Rating and Class 1 Medical, with 2,000+ hours and unrestricted travel eligibility to WestJet destinations.

Qualifications

• Valid Transport Canada ATPL.
• Group 1 Instrument Rating and Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Minimum 2,000 hours total flight time.
• Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status with valid passport; non-Canadians require PR.
• Ability to travel unrestricted to all WestJet destinations and secure visas as needed.
• Clean criminal record and background check; RAIC eligibility before Ground School.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Pass pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.

What you'll bring (minimum qualifications)

• Valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
• Current Group 1 Instrument Rating and Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• At least 2,000 hours total flight time.
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident status, with a valid passport; non-Canadian passport holders must hold a valid Canadian Permanent Residency card.
• Ability to travel unrestricted to all WestJet destinations; responsible for obtaining any required visas or travel documents.
• Clear criminal record and background check; eligible to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) prior to Initial Ground School.
• Proficiency in oral and written English.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.

What sets you apart (preferred)

• 3,000+ hours total flight time.
• Jet or turboprop experience in a Canadian 705 operation.
• 500+ hours fixed-wing multi-engine time and multi-crew experience.
• Previous WestJet Group experience or graduation from a partner school.
• Post-secondary education in aviation or a related field.
