Job summary

Cleveland Designs is seeking an Automotive Body Technician or Painter to work on one-of-a-kind restorations and custom builds in our Saint John, NB shop. You will shape metal panels, restore body lines, and apply show-quality paint finishes to unique vehicles.

• Experience as a body Technician.
• Excellent diagnostic skills and attention to workmanship.

• Ability to read blueprints/CAD sketches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble vehicles.
• Perfom body work prep, masking, priming, sanding, buffing, and paint prep.
• Perform MIG/TIG and spot welding to assemble components.
• Read blueprints, sketches, and CAD drawings to fabricate parts.
• Ensure welds meet structural integrity and aesthetics.

As an Automotive Body Technician or Painter, you'll help bring these vehicles to life. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assembly and disassembly of vehicles
• Body work prep
• Masking, priming, sanding, buffing & paint
• structural repairs on vehicles
• Design, cut, shape, and form sheet metal to create custom body panels, components, and parts for classic and custom vehicles.
• Modify and fit pre-existing parts to ensure precise alignment and aesthetic appeal.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and spot welding to assemble and secure metal components.
• Ensure all welds meet structural integrity and aesthetic standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and CAD drawings to accurately fabricate custom parts.
• Paint Prep and Painting

Requirements:

• Experience as a body Technician
• Excellent diagnostic skills, pride in workmanship, team player
• Must have a valid drivers’ license and be able to provide an acceptable driver abstract.
• Facial hair will interfere with the ability to achieve a proper seal on CSA-approved respirators; therefore, it is a requirement that staff must be clean-shaven. If you are unable to maintain a clean shave where the respirator seals to the face for any reason, please inform us in the form of a request for accommodation.
