Job summary

Grimsby Hyundai in Grimsby, Ontario, seeks an experienced Body Shop Apprentice to join our team. You will assist with vehicle body work, prep damaged parts, and learn current autobody technologies through dealership-provided online training.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–3 years in an automotive setting, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Aiming toward a 310B license is encouraged.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Proven knowledge and experience with automotive body operations.
• The ideal candidate is at least a Level 2 apprentice technician working towards their 310B license.
• 1-3 years of work experience in an automotive dealership or collision center.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged body parts (bumpers, fenders, hoods, panels, grilles, trim).
• Replace door skins.
• Realign car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
• Hammer out or patch dents and minor body damage.
• Diagnose wiring harnesses and battery charging issues.
• Keep work thorough, accurate and timely.
• Move vehicles around the facility to complete repairs.
• Learn current autobody technologies and applications.
• Maintain cleanliness of customer vehicles inside and out.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Grimsby Hyundai is seeking an experienced Body Shop Apprentice to join their exceptional team. The ideal candidate would be an energetic individual with previous experience in prepping vehicles and doing body work. The candidate will be required to do continuous online learning (provided by the dealership) in accordance with the position. A willingness to earn a certificate in Auto Body Repair is also required.

Here’s what you’ll deliver:

• Experience removing damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, quarter panels, grilles, and trim.
• Experience with replacing door skins.
• Experience with realigning car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
• Experience with hammering out or patching dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.
• Experience with diagnosing, troubleshooting basic wiring harnesses, and boosting/charging batteries.
• Ensure that all work performed is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
• Move vehicles around the facility to complete the repair process.
• Learn and understand all current and emerging technologies as they apply to autobody.
• Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent "comebacks".
• Ensure that customer vehicles are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.
• Other duties as required by management.

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected hourly wage): $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. The starting rate will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
