Job summary

Performance Auto Group's Grimsby Hyundai is seeking a skilled autobody technician to join our service team. The role involves repairing vehicle bodies, realigning frames, and restoring cosmetic and structural integrity with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ideal candidate is a Level 2 apprentice working toward 310B license.
• 1–3 years of work experience in an automotive dealership or collision center.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged body parts (bumpers, fenders, hoods, quarter panels, grilles, trim).
• Replace door skins and realign car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
• Hammer out or patch dents, dimples and other minor body damage.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot wiring harnesses, and boost/charge batteries.
• Ensure work is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
• Move vehicles around the facility to complete the repair process.
• Learn current and emerging autobody technologies and maintain focus to prevent comebacks.
• Keep customer vehicles clean inside and out.

Here’s What You’ll Deliver

• Experience removing damaged body parts, including bumpers, fenders, hoods, quarter panels, grilles, and trim.
• Experience with replacing door skins.
• Experience with realigning car frames and chassis to repair structural damage.
• Experience with hammering out or patching dents, dimples, and other minor body damage.
• Experience with diagnosing, troubleshooting basic wiring harnesses, and boosting/charging batteries.
• Ensure that all work performed is thorough, accurate, and completed in a timely fashion.
• Move vehicles around the facility to complete the repair process.
• Learn and understand all current and emerging technologies as they apply to autobody.
• Maintain a high degree of concentration to prevent “comebacks”.
• Ensure that customer vehicles are kept as clean or cleaner than when they arrived, both inside and out.

What do you need to succeed?

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Proven knowledge and experience with automotive body operations.
• The ideal candidate is at least a Level 2 apprentice technician working towards their 310B license.
• 1-3 years of work experience in an automotive dealership or collision center.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License and good driving record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Must be team oriented, hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed.

Job Type: Full Time - Permanent

Compensation (expected hourly wage): $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. The starting rate will be set within this range based on job-related factors such as relevant skills and experience.
