3529 - Board Member Prospective Treasurer

We are seeking a new Board member who is interested in becoming our next Treasurer. Preference will be given to Mississauga residents, though all eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. Candidates with financial management and/or relevant Board experience will be prioritized.
The function of this role is to provide financial leadership on policy development, the budget and audit cycles, and risk management, with the day-to-day financial operations of the organization managed by Ecosource’s financial team, including the Executive Director, a Chartered Professional Accountant, and a bookkeeper.
Responsibilities: As a valued member of the Board of Directors, you will:
Ecosource is an innovative Ontario-based organization that inspires the community to become more environmentally responsible through creative public education. Our work began in Mississauga in 1979 and has expanded throughout the Region of Peel and beyond to promote waste reduction, urban agriculture, sustainability education, nature connection, and youth leadership.
The time commitment for this role is a minimum 3-year term at 5-10 hours/month, including preparation for and attendance of 10 board meetings/year with additional committee meetings as required monthly. Currently, we are conducting business in a hybrid format. Most meetings are held virtually with one in-person meeting per quarter scheduled with advance notice.
