Artemis Gold Inc. is seeking a Blaster Helper at the Blackwater Mine site to assist with loading, transporting, and firing production blasts. You will work under the supervision of a certified Blaster in a demanding outdoor environment and remote camp setting.
The position requires physical fitness, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a willingness to adhere to rigorous safety procedures during 12-hour shifts in a remote location.

Reporting to the Development Supervisor – Mining, the Blaster Helper is responsible for assisting the lead blaster with all tasks related to handling, transporting & loading explosives as well as occasionally assisting dewatering and pit utility crews.
Location: Blackwater Mine site
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Employment Type: Permanent
Assist the Blaster with the preparation, loading, and firing of production and development blasts
Transport, handle, and stage explosives and blasting accessories in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures
Prepare blast holes for loading, including cleaning and measuring holes as required
Help establish and maintain blast exclusion zones, signage, and security during blasting activities
Support the safe storage, inventory, and documentation of explosives and blasting materials
Maintain blasting equipment, tools, and vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition
Work closely with Drill Operators, Mine Operations, and other departments to ensure blasting activities are completed safely and efficiently
Follow all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training
Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
