Nature's Fare Markets in Langley is seeking a BISTRO Team Leader (Food Service) to help guide daily operations, promote our organic, local, sustainably sourced menu, and uphold our five core values. You will train and coach staff, manage priorities with the Bistro Manager, and ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining inventory and a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Passion for organic food and natural medicine with retail/grocery industry interest.
• Excellent communication and outstanding customer service skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
• Merchandising eye and inventory management capability.
• Lead by example and motivate/ train team members.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisor role; food service experience is a plus.
• Food Safe Certification; strong organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with the Bistro Manager to set priorities and communicate them clearly.
• Coach team members and drive selling and promotions throughout the day.
• Support operational standards and train staff on customer service expectations.
• Create and complete checklists with the team; supervise in-store production.
• Ensure training on products/ingredients and provide ongoing guidance.
• Foster a positive work environment and monitor spillage/reporting.

**The successful candidate will be scheduled 32 - 40 hours per week, and must be available to work AM/PM, weekdays and weekends.**

BISTRO Team Leader(FOOD SERVICE)

The Bistro Team Leader is responsible for helping lead the team through living and promoting our five Core Values as well as maintaining the day-to-day operations within the department.

In our Bistro, we are passionately creating delicious food made with carefully chosen organic, local sustainable ingredients: fresh produce, ethically raised and grass-fed meat and dairy, and products without additives or preservatives. Our customers love our fresh juices and smoothies, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, salads, hearty soups, entrées, and an array of baked goods. And, of course, we offer tasty options for a variety of food preferences including vegan, vegetarian, gluten‑free and paleo diets.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• A passion for organic food and natural medicine and love of the retail and grocery industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to set the standards for customer service in the Bistro department
• Strong problem solving, and decision‑making skills
• An eye for merchandising and the ability to assist in managing inventory
• Motivated by fast‑paced environment
• Ability and desire to lead by example and create a positive, supportive working environment
• Desire to motivate and train team members
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisor role
• Previous food service or restaurant experience considered an asset
• Food Safe Certified
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to delegate and direct the work of others while working as a team
• Knowledge of the retail environment

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Working with the Bistro Manager to ensure effective communication throughout the day on department priorities
• Set daily priorities and pace for the team
• Coaches team members and helps drives selling and promotion within the department throughout the day
• Support the Bistro Manager by actively working to meet operational standards
• Train and promote the standard of Customer Service expected by all bistro employees
• Checklists are your jam! You create and complete them with ease with the assistance of the department team members
• Facilitates production of in-store prepared items
• Ensures team training on products and ingredients
• Provides regular coaching and guidance
• Adopts and encourages a positive environment
• Assistswith recording, monitoring, and reporting spillage
