Job summary

Nature's Fare Markets in White Rock, BC is seeking a Bistro Team Member to help with mornings and casual shifts. You will assist customers, prepare smoothies and menu items, and ensure appealing food displays while keeping the area tidy.

We value a service-minded attitude, willingness to learn, and teamwork. Opening shifts start early; flexibility for weekend/evening hours is a plus. Training provided and store culture focused on quality and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Service-minded with experience in a vibrant customer service environment.
• Food prep experience is preferred but not required.
• Open to learning new things.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and build connections.
• Assist with orders and menu suggestions based on dietary needs.

Job description

The successful candidate will be casual, picking up shifts where needed - so this is a role for someone looking for a set 4 hours per week shift as well as opportunity to pick up casual shifts as required. Must be available to work mornings - 6.30 am start as well as AM/PM/weekend shifts and evenings to 7:30 pm.

Regular Store Hours:

Mon – Sat 8:00am – 8:00pm
Sun 9:00am – 7:00pm

In our Bistro, we are passionately creating delicious food made with carefully chosen organic, local sustainable ingredients: fresh produce, ethically raised and grass-fed meat and dairy, and products without additives or preservatives. Our customers love our fresh juices and smoothies, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, salads, hearty soups, entrées and an array of baked goods. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Give a warm “hello!” to our customers – we like building connections with our new and regular customers and sharing a laugh along the way.
• Assist customers with their order which might include answering questions on our menu items and giving suggestions based on their dietary needs (don’t worry, we will train you on this!)
• Prepare, make and serve our menu items, including specialty smoothies and juices.
• Use your eye for detail to make food displays that are attractive and inviting.
• Using the ‘clean as you go’ method you keep kitchen area clean, tidy and organized. Teamwork makes the dream work!
• In other words, you will help others, share your knowledge on our amazing products, be safe, be a great team player and have fun!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• You are service minded with experience working in a vibrant customer service environment.
• Previous food prep experience is preferred but not required.
• You are availablefor opening shifts, starting at 6.30 AM.
• Passionate about food and sharing your favourite “go-to” items
• You are flexible and seamlessly help make the workflow happen.
• You are confident and friendly in approaching and talking to people.
• Open to learning new things.
• Like to have fun!
• Food Safe I Certified is a plus, but not needed in order to apply.
